The President Vadim Krasnoselsky Met with Russian Senators

11/12/21

The meeting of the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky and Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev was held in Moscow. They talked about the state of affairs in the negotiation process, discussed options for resolving the problems that Pridnestrovians face due to the restrictions imposed by Moldova. In particular, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted the growing stagnation at all levels of the negotiation process.

After the meeting in the Federation Council, Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke about the preliminary results of the previous Moscow meetings. The PMR President noted that Russia is an active participant and guarantor of the 5+2 format, has an agenda. It is necessary to highlight the meeting that was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The problems of the 5+2 format were discussed. Everyone understands perfectly well that the Moldovan side first postponed, and ultimately disrupted this year’s 5+2 meeting. This step by Moldova upset everyone – not only the Russian Federation and Pridnestrovie, but all mediators and observers, including the European Union. Any issue can be resolved only at the negotiating table.

“There was a lot of talk about the Pridnestrovian-Russian cooperation in Moscow. This is cultural, humanitarian cooperation. Here we can talk about peacekeepers, about obtaining Russian citizenship by citizens of Pridnestrovie, federal subsidies for multiple-child families on the territory of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, the possibility of providing medical assistance to citizens of Pridnestrovie living on the territory of the Russian Federation. This is a question of the status of the Pridnestrovian State University, and so on. These are issues that are in the interests not only of Pridnestrovians who have Russian citizenship, but of all our compatriots living far from Russia”, said Vadim Krasnoselsky.

They also raised the issue of supplying the Sputnik V vaccine to Pridnestrovie. “There is currently such a solution – 200 thousand doses per 100 thousand people. We are waiting for the permission of the Moldovan side to supply this vaccine to the territory of Pridnestrovie”, said Vadim Krasnoselsky.

Another meeting took place in Moscow at the end of the day. The PMR President talked with the Chairman of the Federation Council Commission on Information Policy and Interaction with the Media Alexey Pushkov. They discussed joint work aimed at solving the problems faced by Pridnestrovians.
