A meeting of political representatives from Pridnestrovie and Moldova was held at the OSCE Mission office in Chisinau. The hosts of the discussion did not provide technical facilities for the presence of representatives of mediators and observers at the meeting. The Pridnestrovian side indicated the incorrectness of such approaches due to the established communication formats within the meetings of political representatives and received assurances about preventing the recurrence of such situations in the future.
During the communication, the discussion was focused on the vehicle issues related to the critical situation in the area due to unmotivated restrictions imposed since September 1 this year. The Pridnestrovian side officially presented an updated draft Protocol Decision on the participation of the PMR passenger and cargo transport in international road traffic, prepared on the basis of the discussions held in September-October this year between the parties at various levels. The draft still provides for admission to registration of cargo and passenger transport in the VROs, and also assumes a specific mechanism for resolving several problematic issues identified by the Moldovan side as part of existing contacts.
The Pridnestrovian side called on Moldova to consider the draft document as quickly as possible in order to enable the speedy solution to the problem and officially inform of their position.
Along with this, topical issues of the activities of expert (working) groups were discussed. A number of meetings and their agenda were scheduled, including in the coming week, when meetings of field experts on customs, education, medicines import and telecommunications are expected to be held.
The Moldovan side has not voiced a clear position on its readiness to hold a meeting of the “Permanent Conference...” in Stockholm. In turn, Pridnestrovie confirmed its readiness to hold a meeting in the time frame considered by the mediators.
Within the framework of the dialogue, other topical issues of the negotiation process representing the interests of each of the parties were also addressed.
