09/17/21

The Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Moldova Stanislav Kozecký.

During the conversation, the parties discussed the current state of the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova. Special attention was paid to the entry ban for Pridnestrovian vehicles on the territory of Ukraine from September 1, 2021. Vitaly Ignatiev drew attention to the extremely acute nature of this issue, stressing that the restrictions initiated at Moldova's request have already led to a number of humanitarian crises. Such as, for example, the inability of Pridnestrovian reanimobiles to travel to Ukrainian medical institutions for emergency medical care.

As a follow-up to the discussion, the Minister noted that the Pridnestrovian side expects the Republic of Moldova to fulfill its treaty obligations and is interested in assistance from international partners in this matter. Compliance by the Republic of Moldova with the agreements previously reached in the framework of the negotiation process would remove a number of social and humanitarian issues from the agenda and significantly improve people's lives.

The meeting took place as part  of Stanislav Kozecký's first visit  to Pridnestrovie as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Moldova. Concluding the meeting, the parties expressed hope for further constructive cooperation.
