Today, the Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev and the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Claus Neukirch.
The central topic of the working discussion was the issue of restrictions imposed on Pridnestrovian vehicles on September 1 this year. In this context, the diplomats confirmed the need to intensify the dialogue between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova in order to resolve as soon as possible the entire complex of current problematic aspects recorded by the OSCE Mission in the generalized protocol of October 7, 2020. Special emphasis was placed on ensuring access to international road traffic for vehicles of cargo and passenger carriers of the PMR.
During the conversation, Vitaly Ignatiev and Claus Neukirch exchanged views on the further course of the negotiating process, given the initiated restrictive measures. The prospects of holding the next meeting of the “Permanent Meeting...” in the “5+2” format were discussed as well.
Concluding the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain systematic working contacts across the entire spectrum of relevant areas of interaction.
