The PMR Foreign Ministry hosted a videoconference on working consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, including Foreign Ministers Vitaly Ignatiev and David Babayan.
During the discussion, the interlocutors paid close attention to the promising areas of bilateral cooperation. In particular, they outlined concrete steps aimed at the development of inter-ministerial, public information and educational cooperation. Special attention was paid to topical issues with regard to the fight against the COVID-19 in Pridnestrovie and Artsakh.
During the conversation, David Babayan also mentioned some negative aspects associated with the consequences of the armed aggression against the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic last autumn. At the same time, the Artsakh diplomat noted the positive role of the Russian peacekeepers, who have become a stabilizing factor preventing the resumption of large-scale military actions against the republic.
In turn, Vitaly Ignatiev expressed his condolences to the families of the fallen defenders of Artsakh, expressing confidence that their courage and self-sacrifice will become the foundation for the revival of the republic.
At the end of the working dialogue, the diplomats discussed several scheduled events and agreed on further dynamic communication over all areas of mutual interest.
