Today, the Pridnestrovian Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting of Minister Vitaly Ignatiev with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to the Republic of Moldova Stella Avallone.
Welcoming the Austrian diplomat, Vitaly Ignatiev noted the good experience of interaction with Austria in the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova, including the Austrian OSCE Chairmanship in 2017.
Vitaly Ignatiev informed the Ambassador of Austria about the current situation in the negotiation process, noted the ongoing pressing issues and drew attention to the prevention of possible threats, including introduction of restrictions on Pridnestrovian vehicles with regard to the international road traffic. The Head of the PMR Foreign Ministry made a special emphasis on the need to change the inertial international approach to Pridnestrovie, as well as to take into account the interests and protect the rights of people living in the republic. “Our main priority within the negotiation process is the interests of people,” the diplomat concluded.
The conversation included exchange of views on economic interaction between the countries, i.a. attracting investments and supporting business.
Closing the meeting, the interlocutors thanked each other for an open and constructive dialogue, and agreed to maintain interaction on topical issues of mutual interest.
