The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev took part in a special scientific session of the Institute of CIS Countries at the invitation of Konstantin Zatulin, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots. The event was held to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the Institute.
In his plenary session's speech, the head of the PMR's Foreign Ministry congratulated the staff of the Institute on a remarkable occasion and noted that the Russian scientific center and the Foreign Ministry of Pridnestrovie are bound by a long-term fruitful interaction in research, educational, cultural and humanitarian spheres. The diplomat highly appreciated the Institute's contribution to the development of Russian-Pridnestrovian cooperation and the projects it implements to support Russian citizens and compatriots living in the PMR.
During his address, the Minister also read out a welcoming message of the PMR's President to the Director of the Institute, Konstantin Zatulin. “All these years, the Institute you lead has been working hard to support and ensure Russian interests in the CIS space and protect the Russian compatriots' rights, and has proved to be an authoritative research and expert institution. Under your competent guidance, the Institute has mustered a team of high-level professionals, whose selfless work makes it possible to successfully implement programs designed to consolidate Russian compatriots through safeguarding Russian culture, Russian language and history,” Vadim Krasnoselsky said in his address.
On behalf of the Head of State, Vitaly Ignatiev presented the Institute of CIS Countries with the Order of Friendship for merits in strengthening cooperation between the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Russian Federation.
As part of the event, Vitaly Ignatiev held a number of working meetings to discuss practical steps to strengthen bilateral interaction and implement joint projects and initiatives.
