Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR met with Stephen Fisher, Ambassador of Her Majesty the Queen. The head of the Pridnestrovian Foreign Ministry expressed condolences over the death of Prince Philip and gratitude to the British side for the humanitarian assistance provided during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Interlocutors discussed in detail the current situation within the conflict resolving process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova with an emphasis on the need to change the inertial paradigm of the international community towards the parties and an emphasis on protecting population’s rights and interests guaranteed by universally recognized conventions and treaties. An open exchange of views took place on ways to normalize the situation in the negotiation process, implement agreements from the so-called "Berlin plus package", and to reject prejudices existing in a number of countries regarding the prospects for interaction with Pridnestrovie.
Vitaly Ignatiev informed the British diplomat as to Pridnestrovie’s vision about Kishinev’s reasons when refusing to fulfill its obligations and when deciding to strengthen restrictions within economy, banks and transport issues. The Minister called on international partners to objectively assess the situation and prevent violating the rights of Pridnestrovians.
