Vitaly Ignatiev Met with Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Vitaly Tryapitsyn

As part of the working trip to the capital of the Russian Federation, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev met with Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Vitaly Tryapitsyn.

During the conversation, a detailed exchange of views on the current situation in the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova took place. The unsatisfactory dialogue dynamics at all levels was noted, including in the framework of Expert (Working) Groups and meetings of representatives on political issues. In this regard, Vitaly Ignatiev noted the lack of progress in resolving problems in the field of vehicles, telecommunication, criminal cases and interbank cooperation, all this because the Moldovan side is permanently avoiding implementing previously reached agreements.

Speaking about the negotiation process’ prospects this year, diplomats voiced for the need to intensify work at all its levels. The sides emphasized as well it is inadmissible taking any unilateral steps that would lead to atmosphere deterioration in the dialogue or would infringe the rights and interests of people living in Pridnestrovie. Along with, interlocutors agreed as on the need for a more involved international participation in the settlement process, as on the need to realize the Permanent Conference site’s potential, including by arranging meetings in this format on a regular basis.

During the conversation, parties discussed as well the Russian-Pridnestrovian cooperation development in various fields, including within the fight against the new type of coronavirus pandemic.

Ending the meeting, mutual interest was expressed in a continuing constant working communication across the entire spectrum of topical areas of bilateral cooperation.
