Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev held an online meeting with the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Thomas Mayr-Harting. The head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Klaus Neukirch attended the discussion as well.
During the meeting, parties exchanged views on the current situation in the dialogue between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova, with a special emphasis on transport issues. In this context, interlocutors emphasized it is inadmissible on the part of individual participants in the negotiation process to apply any restrictive measures which would deteriorate the living conditions of people living in Pridnestrovie.
Discussing prospects for Moldovan-Pridnestrovian relations settlement this year, diplomats touched upon available possibilities to activate the work of the existing negotiating mechanisms, including holding the next "Permanent Conference ..." meeting in the "5 + 2" format.
At his turn, the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office told the Head of the Foreign Ministry about his working visits results to Moscow and Kiev, the capitals of the states-mediators in the negotiation process.
Following the discussion up, diplomats discussed certain aspects related to the current epidemiological situation and possible international support meant for parties and aimed at an early situation normalization.
Ending the conversation, interlocutors agreed to continue a regular systematic dialogue across the entire spectrum of topical areas of interaction.
