Vitaly Ignatiev Met with Alexander Brod Member of the Presidential Council for Civil Society and Human Rights Development

As part of a working trip to the capital of the Russian Federation, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev met with the member of the Presidential Council for Civil Society and Human Rights Development, Director of the Moscow Bureau for Human Rights, Alexander Brod. The discussion took place at the site of the PMR’s Official Representation in Russia.

Interlocutors focused on the current situation in the field of ensuring the rights and interests of the population of Pridnestrovie. The PMR’s Foreign Minister told the Russian human rights activist about existing problems that hinder the citizens of the republic bearing a normal life, and which continue existing due to the still unresolved Moldovan-Pridnestrovian conflict and also due to numerous restrictive measures initiated by the Republic of Moldova. In this context, from the Pridnestrovian side, the diplomat presented a number of practical proposals aimed at improving the situation in this area.

On his part, Alexander Brod confirmed the Russian side’s readiness to assist in organizing systematic work to protect the rights and freedoms of Russian citizens and Russian compatriots living in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

Ending the working discussion, its participants agreed to continue a regular dialogue on a wide range of topical areas of bilateral cooperation.
