Today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR hosted the meeting between Pridnestrovian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vitaly Ignatiev with the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Klaus Neukirch.
The main meeting topic was the newly arisen difficulties in the transport sector associated with the next announced prohibitive measures of Moldova and Ukraine in relation to cars registered in the PMR. Vitaly Ignatiev negatively assessed Chisinau’s actions which provoke the Ukrainian side to effectuate a ban and thus, violate the existing agreements of the negotiation process and aggravate tension in the dialogue. Such approaches are doubly unjustified in the context of the limited functionality of the VRO mechanism (since within its activities 15 specific problems were identified, with the participation of the OSCE Mission) and the continued of Republic of Moldova’s refusal to hold meetings of Expert (Working) Groups on transport and road facilities issues.
During the discussion, other topical aspects of regulating Moldovan-Pridnestrovian relations process were also discussed, first of all those in the context of the Berlin + package agreements implementation. The interlocutors paid as well attention to the prospects for enhancing the dialogue at all levels of the negotiation structure, including holding the next meeting in the 5 + 2 format.
The diplomats agreed to continue a permanent communication on this and other topical issues of the negotiation process, including in the online format.
