The Pridnestrovian President had a conversation with Russian politician Konstantin Kosachev. Senators Farit Mukhametshin and Sergei Muratov representing the Russian Federation together with Vitaly Ignatiev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR representing the Pridnestrovian side, attended the meeting as well.
The head of the Pridnestrovian state thanked the Federation Council’s leadership for arranging the visit of senators as observers at the recent parliamentary elections to the PMR, and for constant attention to the processes taking place in the republic and around it.
During the discussion, Konstantin Kosachev noted that on the eve of 2021, the geopolitical situation demands for closer interaction with the Pridnestrovian side.
Interlocutors exchanged views on the current situation in relations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova, including the negotiation process. Mutual concern was expressed over the persisting set of problems in this area that have not been resolved despite the previously signed agreements.
Keeping on the conversation, attention was paid to the development of social and humanitarian interaction with the Russian Federation, including the parameters of supporting compatriots. Interlocutors emphasized the current traditionally high level of contacts and agreed continuing an intensive dialogue.
