The first meeting of the Commission on Foreign Policy and International Relations of the VII convocation of the Supreme Council of the PMR took place on December 11. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Alexander Stetsiuk attended it as well.
During the meeting, the diplomat made a report on the current situation in the negotiation process in the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian settlement. In particular, he informed the MPs about a significant decrease in the working dynamics with the Moldovan side. Deputy Minister noted that for the first time since 2011, there occurred the situation when not a single official meeting in the “5 + 2” format has been arranged during the year.
The Deputy Minister outlined as well Foreign Ministry’s short-term tasks to be solved in the very near future in cooperation with representatives of the neighboring state, and stressed that in 2021 one of the priorities of the international negotiation process will be obligations fulfillment within the framework of the agreements reached in the period from 2016 to 2018.
