A telephone conversation was held between the PMR’s President Vadim Krasnoselsky and the Head of the Moldovan State Igor Dodon. The interlocutors confirmed their readiness to meet at the end of this month to discuss current issues on the negotiation agenda.
The presidents focused on the COVID-19 situation in Pridnestrovie and Moldova and measures taken by the Pridnestrovian side to contain the coronavirus. In particular, the quarantine-sanitary posts established as part of the barriers to counter the epidemic were discussed. The initial number of such posts was 31. After the state of emergency in Pridnestrovie had been removed, their number was halved. To date, the list of categories of citizens who are allowed to cross the Pridnestrovian-Moldovan border has been significantly expanded. As Vadim Krasnoselsky informed Igor Dodon, the number of daily entries (exits) exceeds 8600 border-crossings (to compare, the July 2019 indicator is 12,000). The PMR’s President emphasized that talking about the complete removal of temporarily deployed quarantine-sanitary posts will be possible after the epidemiological situation in both republics improves towards favorable.
