Welcoming the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Moldova Dereck Hogan, Vadim Krasnoselsky said that there have been events that require joint discussion since the previous meeting. The problematic aspect is a serious slowdown in the dynamics of the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova. “The negotiation process is almost stagnating. The prospects for resuming a normal dialogue are not yet clear,” the PMR’s President noted. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that humanitarian and social issues are accumulating. Many of them are not tackled for years. “Those issues that are not related to the pandemic must be routinely addressed. Officials should not justify their inaction by a pandemic. It is necessary to find opportunities to resume a normal communication,” the Head of the Pridnestrovian state said.
Dereck Hogan, in turn, expressed hope for a speedy settlement of Moldova-Pridnestrovie relations in all the existing aspects and assured that the United States, as an observer in the negotiation process, is ready to assist the parties in dealing with the accumulated issues.
During the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged views on topical issues on the negotiation agenda. They also discussed various issues of bilateral cooperation between Pridnestrovie and the United States.
