Vitaly Ignatiev Held Negotiations with Thomas Mayr-Harting and Klaus Neukirch

The Pridnestrovian Foreign Minister held a video format negotiation with the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Thomas Mayr-Harting and the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Klaus Neukirch.

The interlocutors discussed a wide range of pressing issues, first of all related to the current cooperation within the negotiation process in the light of coronavirus infection pandemic. In this context, the Minister defined the whole list of existing challenges with an emphasis on bureaucratic barriers caused by the Moldovan side while supplies of medicines and other vitally-important categories of goods to Pridnestrovie through the Moldovan-Ukrainian border checkpoints. Aside, the Head of the Pridnestrovian Foreign Ministry outlined the importing telecommunication and computer equipment problem since its blockage “exceeded all the possible deadlines”.

Vitaly Ignatiev paid special attention to the banking issue and particularly noted the impossibility to use international banking cards on the PMR territory, stating it leads to thousands of citizens’ rights violation, especially of those on pension.

Among others, the parties touched upon current dialogue issues between Pridnestrovie and Moldova noting the possibility to hold Expert (Working) Groups meeting in a videoconference format. Ending the discussion, the sides agreed continuing a regular and systemic dialogue.
