The Pridnestrovian President related the Pridnestrovian statehood establishment origins, the main stages of the republic’s development, and its today life. The head of state expressed confidence in the need to debunk existing myths about Pridnestrovie. He emphasized that informing the world community about the real life of the country is one of the tasks the official mission is facing.

The head of the Representative Office Leonid Manakov announced results of the first year. He said that during 2019, about a thousand citizens of the PMR applied for different kinds of help to the mission. The most common topics of applications are: the PMR ‘s citizenship obtaining, military service, recognition of various documents, including sick leave issued in Pridnestrovie. Leonid Manakov emphasized: the representative office manages to resolve many of these issues on its own. In addition, the Official Representative Office maintains direct contacts with authorities in Moscow, actively interacts with public organizations, and serves as a venue for various cultural and informational events. During working visits of the Pridnestrovian leadership to Moscow, meetings with compatriots are regularly held at the Official Representation site. So, over the past year, four such meetings were held by the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky.

During the meeting, the participants of the round table were shown a presentation on modern Pridnestrovie and its development - both economic and social. The discussion was on the PMR industry and creation of new jobs in the republic. On the steps that the republic’s leadership is taking to form a positive image of the country in the global information space and on things already done and remaining to be done so as to develop local tourism.

Speaking about the priorities, goals, tasks and long-term plans of the country, Vadim Krasnoselsky said that the state is developing in accordance with the basic document - the Development Strategy of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic for 2019-2026. “The strategy has been developed for a period of 8 years. There are set clear goals and objectives for each body, each administration, each ministry, each official. The Strategy outlines three principles for Pridnestrovie’s development. They are political stability, economic self-sufficiency and social justice,” the President of the PMR noted.

The participants praised the integrated approach of the Republic’s leadership to develop Pridnestrovie. The Chairman of the Federation Council Commission on Information Policy, Alexey Pushkov, noted that “the Pridnestrovian Republic now has additional moral and political grounds for “country creation”.

In turn, the President of Pridnestrovie, Vadim Krasnoselsky, expressed confidence that recognition of the PMR’s independence is a technical issue and it is possible to bring its solution closer only through internal comprehensive state development. “All branches of government, all the people are aimed at creating conditions for comfortable living in Pridnestrovie, so that it conforms to modern standards. And recognition is a technical issue. But no one will recognize gray and weak ones. Only strong and self-sufficient will be recognized. We strive for this,” Vadim Krasnoselsky said.

Celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory was another topic of the meeting. The participants in the round table spoke about the need to adhere to a single course on preserving the memory of the great feat of Russian people and the fight against falsification of history.

People in Pridnestrovie together with Russia must celebrate the greatness of our Victory as a single organism, as a single state. We must together take part in celebrations both in Russia and in Pridnestrovie. So that the citizens of Pridnestrovie feel that they are part of the great Russia and that we celebrate with you this great achievement of our fathers and grandfathers,” Igor Morozov, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture said.
