On Expert Meeting on Railway Issues

The OSCE Mission office in Tiraspol hosted a meeting of expert (working) groups on rail transport and communications initiated by the Pridnestrovian side to discuss certain issues on raw materials delivery to Pridnestrovie and the export of finished products. Within the framework of the working dialogue was asserted as the emergence inadmissibility of problematic situations of this kind as the interest to provide proper transport services to the enterprises of Pridnestrovie by the State Enterprise “Railway Moldova”.  

Along with, the sides discussed on the long-running and unjustified ban on fuel and lubricants transportation through the Slobodka-Kolbasna border crossing. Pridnestrovie urged again the Moldovan side to repeal the administrative barriers that contradict the provisions of the Protocol Decision “On the Principles of Renewing a Full Freight Rail Transport Through the Pridnestrovian Region,” thus, making possible a beneficial effect on the economy of rail transportation.

Sides had a detailed stakeholders dialogue regarding cooperation in the field of tariff policy from the point of view of searching for various options to increase the commercial attractiveness of rail transportation and, accordingly, the profit of the State Unitary Enterprise Pridnestrovian Railway (PJD) and the state enterprise Moldovan Railway (CFM).
