Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Takes Part in Informal Consultations on Issues of Moldova-Pridnestrovie Settlement in Vienna

On November 6, 2009, on invitation of the Greek Chairmanship of the OSCE, PMR's Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Yastrebchak visited Vienna where he partook in informal consultations on issues of Moldova-Pridnestrovie settlement. Representatives from the Russian Federation, Ukraine, OSCE, Moldova, the European Union and the USA also took part in the consultations.

In the course of the concluded talks there was an interested exchange of views regarding the current situation in Moldova-Pridnestrovie relations as well as other pressing issues.

The Pridnestrovian side confirmed its readiness to carry out an effective dialogue based on the principles of equality, mutual respect, non-use of force and any forms of pressure, with due consideration of all earlier accords, including the Joint Statement in follow up of the meeting of the Presidents of Russia, Moldova and Pridnestrovie from March 18, 2009 in Moscow.

The Pridnestrovian side expressed appreciation to the Greek Chairmanship of the OSCE for creating a favorable platform for a dialogue, and also for the efforts aimed at stepping up the collaboration between Moldova and Pridnestrovie.
