On April 1, 2011, in the PMR's MFA a meeting took place between Foreign Minister Vladimir Yastrebchak with Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden in the Republic of Moldova Ingrid Tersman. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Vitalij Ignatiev and Deputy Head of Swedish Embassy Mission in Moldova Bjorn Halvarsson.
During the meeting, possible directions of interaction of Sweden and PMR, particularly the work of Pridnestrovien enterprises on European markets, interparliamentary interaction in the framework of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly's initiative and possibilities for interaction in the field of science and humanitarian sphere on the whole, were discussed.
Interlocutors touched upon the questions of activity of expert groups on economic matters and problems of transport. Swedish diplomats were also interested in the Pridnestrovien assessment of perspectives of the next round of unofficial negotiations in “5 + 2” format in Vienna.
In the given context, Vladimir Yastrebchak pointed that for the current moment there are no principal changes connected with practical actions from the Moldovan side aimed at creating conditions for continuation of a full-scale dialog in the framework of the “Permanent Consultations…”.
During the meeting, other topical issues, concerning bilateral Swedish – Pridnestrovien collaboration, and parameters of a possible collaboration of Pridnestrovie and EU were discussed.
On her part, Ingrid Tersman marked amazing interweaving of cultures in Pridnestrovie, once again emphasizing historical connection of Sweden and Pridnestrovie.
Concluding a meeting, the sides voiced hope for continuation of direct dialog and further development of mutually beneficial collaboration.
