Today the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia has sent words of compassion and support to the Foreign Ministry of Pridnestrovie on the occasion of the Day of Memory and Grief. The letter particularly states: “Pridnestrovian people were suffered by ordeals while they have been standing upon their free will under incessant pressure from Moldova. Unity and strength of spirit of people proved to be stronger than enemy\'s attempts to conquer the freedom-loving people of Pridnestrovie, destroy its age-old traditions and rich culture. On this day Pridnestrovians pay tribute to the memory of those who defended the freedom and independence of the people in 1992. Their heroic deed is not in vain and will not be forgotten. With their courage they have defended the right to live in their native land, to raise children, to decide their destiny on their own, proved that will for freedom cannot be suppressed, even by force of arms. South Ossetia, experienced the grief of loss and the joy of victory, is deeply grateful to the people of Pridnestrovie for fortitude, faith and courage in the harsh 1992. Eternal glory to the fallen, glory to the heroes alive! ”
