Meeting with representatives of the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations of Germany in the PMR’s MFA

Today, Pridnestrovian MFA hosted the meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev with representatives of the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations of Germany. German delegation included Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Germany to Moldova Matthias Meyer, Executive Director of the Committee Prof. Dr. Rainer Lindner, Committee's Regional Director for South-Eastern Europe Anja Quiring, and Deputy Head of the German Embassy in Moldova Dr. Thomas Weithoner. Participating in the meeting from the Pridnestrovian side were also chief of the State Service for Investment and Business Activity Promotion of the Ministry for Economic Development of the PMR Svetlana Malysheva, and Deputy Head of Department for Customs Control Organization, State Customs Committee of the PMR Natalia Kovbel.

In the course of the meeting the sides discussed a range of issues related to perspectives of bilateral economic cooperation. Commenting on the results of the meeting, Vitaly Ignatiev expressed hope that issues that had been raised would eventually have “future practical consideration”. “We are glad about practical proposals and systematic attention from the German's side towards Pridnestrovian economy. I am sure we will be able to find a number of points of interaction in economic area. I believe this will be mutually advantageous”, the diplomat marked. 

Representatives of the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations of Germany paid visits also to a number of enterprises and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Pridnestrovie where they discussed opportunities and prospects of economic cooperation development.
