The visit of representatives of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe was confined to the forthcoming OSCE Summit of Heads of State or Government in Astana. In the course of the meeting the participants discussed the present-day situation in the Moldova-Pridnestrovie settlement process, as well as the role of the guarantors and mediators in providing prerequisites for an efficient dialogue between the sides. The Transdniestrian side marked that effectiveness of the negotiations is considerably dependant on the stability of the political situation in Moldova where election campaign has been unfolded. Tiraspol reckons that upon its results a stable system of power will be formed.

The interlocutors also discussed issues of the work of expert (working) groups of Transdniestria and Moldova. The sides arrived to the common opinion that there is a necessity to elaborate appropriate conditions to enable their effective work.
