Diplomat is on a working visit in the Russian capital.
Today the State Duma of the Russian Federation held a grand opening of the exhibition dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the T.G. Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University. The exposition tells in detail about the history of the university, provides information about famous graduates, the structure of the educational process and basic training programmes.
From the Russian side the event was attended by Chairman of the Education Committee of the State Duma of the RF Vyacheslav Nikonov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Science and High Technology of the State Duma of the RF Dmitry Novikov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Culture of the State Duma of the RF Elena Drapeko. The Pridnestrovian side was represented by Acting Foreign Minister of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev, as well as Chairman of the Supreme Council of the PMR Mikhail Burla and Rector of the T.G. Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University Galina Sandutsa.
During the opening ceremony Head of the Foreign Ministry of Pridnestrovie Vitaly Ignatiev welcomed participants. The diplomat noted the significant role of the T.G. Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University in the development of science and education, expert and humanitarian relations of Pridnestrovie and Russia. In this context, he stresses the Russian Federation has been and remains a strategic partner of the republic, and in this regard a comprehensive strengthening of contacts with Russia is of paramount importance for Pridnestrovie. At the end of his speech Vitaly Ignatiev expressed gratitude to the Russian side for its continued willingness to support the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic on the entire range of topical areas.
Chairman of the Education Committee Vyacheslav Nikonov notes the Pridnestrovian State University is a “state-forming enterprise”, which trains personnel for several countries, including Russia, Ukraine and Moldova. “The University stands on traditions of the Russian education school,” - said the parliamentarian, noting the importance of the full-scale integration of the university in the Russian educational system.
“The Pridnestrovian State University is a major research centre today, the people leaving it will value our common history,” - says, in his turn, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Science and High Technology Dmitry Novikov.
Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Culture Elena Drapeko notes the high moral function of the university, emphasizing that teaching in the high school is provided in three languages: Russian, Ukrainian and Moldavian.
Rector of the Pridnestrovian State University Galina Sandutsa states that the teaching of main disciplines is based on the Russian education system and the academic teaching staff regularly retrains at leading universities of Russia.
