Pridnestrovian Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev held a meeting with the heads and members of several expert groups from Pridnestrovie in order to discuss the prospects for further progress within the negotiation process. The list of priority issues includes economics and banks, freight rail services and the participation of Pridnestrovian vehicles in international road traffic, telecommunications, education, legal and documentation support for people.
Vitaly Ignatiev informed the relevant experts on the general results of the “Permanent Conference...” meeting in Bratislava, as well as on the current approaches of the Moldovan side in the main areas of the social, economic, humanitarian and legal agenda.
The Minister aimed the heads of the groups to work actively in the upcoming weeks and formulate detailed and feasible technical proposals on topical issues. Particular attention was paid to the necessary development of a mechanism for access to registration of cargo and passenger carriers in the Vehicle Registration Offices and to solve the issue of driver licenses. The meeting ascertained the inadmissibility of blocking the accounts of Pridnestrovian enterprises in Moldovan banks, as well as expressed regret regarding slow implementation of the Moldovan obligations in the area of telecommunications.
Also, Vitaly Ignatiev announced arrangement of Bavaria Conference on Confidence-Building Measures in early November this year. He encouraged the heads of the groups to get properly ready for it during the next contacts with the Moldovan side at the expert level.
