Nina Shtanski: “Russian-Pridnestrovian Cooperation Brings Positive Results to Our Citizens”

Today Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pridnestrovie Nina Shtanski met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Moldova Farit Muhametshin. New Minister-Councilor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Moldova Vsevolod Filipp who succeeded Vitaly Tryapitsyn on this post was introduced to the Minister. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev also took part in the meeting.



Interlocutors discussed wide range of issues connected with bilateral cooperation between Russia and Pridnestrovie.



Minister informed Russian Ambassador about carrying out the assignment of President of the PMR Yevgeny Shevchuk in preparation of the new edition of the Foreign Policy Concept of the PMR. New Concept will define the strategic course of Pridnestrovie towards Eurasian integration. As Nina Shtanski noted after Concept shall be adopted Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR can start to define its strategy of work to include Pridnestrovie in common space with Russia. “Work on the new edition of the Foreign Policy Concept is on the closing stage. In the nearest time we shall take concrete steps in order to include the PMR in number of projects in sphere of integration into Eurasian space”, – Minister pointed out. Nina Shtanski informed that integration shall be carried out, first of all, in framework of social and humanitarian and cultural cooperation.



Issue of consular service of Pridnestrovians who hold Russian citizenship remains one of the most actual in bilateral relations. Answering the question about perspectives of resolving the existing difficulties in consular service Farit Muhametshin noticed that possibility of extension of cooperation in this sphere is being studied in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation for a long time. Russian Ambassador also noted that in order to minimize queues in consular department of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Moldova additional telephone lines have been established.



Ambassador stated that opening of Consulate General of Russia in Tiraspol is planned for the nearest future. “Opening of Consulate General will not solve all problems but it will allow to make our work more optimal and qualitative. I think this issue shall be resolved by the end of the year”, – he pointed out.



In conclusion of the meeting Minister expressed her gratitude to Russian diplomat for constructive approach and expressed her belief that Russian-Pridnestrovian cooperation shall bring positive results to compatriots.
