The PMR’s MFA hosted a meeting between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Palamarchuk and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to the Republic of Moldova Matyas Szilagyi.
The interlocutors discussed some aspects of bilateral cooperation in the cultural and educational spheres, as well as the current situation in the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova. In particular, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pridnestrovie told about some results of the Bavarian Conference on Confidence-Building Measures held on 12-13 July and the visit of OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier to Pridnestrovie. During the discussion the Pridnestrovian side emphasized its complete readiness to work towards the fulfillment of the Berlin Protocol provisions, including the external use of diplomas of higher education issued in Pridnestrovie, as well as participation of passenger cars registered in Pridnestrovie in international traffic.
At the meeting Dmitry Palamarchuk particularly raised the issue of railway import of cargos in Pridnestrovie. The diplomat drew attention to the need for an early settlement of this acute situation associated with daily losses of economic entities of the Republic. He also expressed hope that the diplomatic corps of European countries in the Republic of Moldova would assist in promoting existing draft solutions for both rail and road transport.
