Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR is on a working visit to Moscow on October 2-5.
The meetings were mainly focused on pressing issues of socio-economic situation of Pridnestrovie, problems of compatriots and citizens of the Russian Federation residing in Pridnestrovie, as well as state of affairs in the negotiation process for Moldova-Pridnestrovie relations settlement.
On October 2, a meeting of Head of foreign political office of Pridnestrovie in Russian Presidential Administration took place. Enhancement of bilateral cooperation aimed at strengthening and protection of interests of Russian compatriots in Pridnestrovie were discussed.
In the framework of the working visit, there was a meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs Nina Shtanski with Sergey Glazyev, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, EurAsEC Deputy General Secretary, Executive Secretary of Eurasian Economic Commission of the Customs Union. In the course of the meeting a thorough discussion of a wide range of issues relating to trade-economic cooperation development took place. The Minister informed Sergey Glazyev about activities carried out in Pridnestrovie within Eurasian integration process.
Strengthening of cooperation at interregional level, in socio-cultural and humanitarian spheres including, were discussed at the meeting of Nina Shtanski with Deputy Minister for Regional Development Maksim Travnikov. Interlocutors mapped out practical steps of bilateral cooperation.
Issues of cooperation in youth, educational and information spheres were raised during the meeting of the Head of the Pridnestrovian diplomacy with Leonid Drachevsky, Executive Director of the Foundation of Public Diplomacy Support A.M. Gorchakova. Nina Shtanski informed about efforts taken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR in the sphere of public diplomacy. The diplomat, in particular, told about peculiarities of work with the civil society of Pridnestrovie through organization of open dialogue of Pridnestrovian MFA with the public via mass media and research-expert forums. She expressed her opinion that engaging initiative young people to the work within the Council of Young Diplomats of the PMR's MFA and organization of the TV project “Public Diplomacy” were perspective novelties in the work of foreign office of Pridnestrovie.
Participating in the meetings which took place in Moscow during these days were Assistant to Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government/Special Representative of Russian President for Pridnestrovie Dmitry Rogozin, and Sergey Gubarev, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian MFA.
