Matthias Meyer is completing its diplomatic mission to Moldova. Taking participation in the meeting was Deputy Chairperson of the Government of the PMR for International Cooperation, Foreign Minister Nina Shtanski.

Yevgeny Shevchuk and Matthias Meyer discussed issues of bilateral cultural, educational, and  ecological cooperation between Pridnestrovie and Germany. The President expressed gratitude to Matthias Meyer for his active position on cooperation issues.

In the course of the meeting the attention was also paid to the issues related to the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and Moldova. The President of Pridnestrovie noted: “The policy of economic restrictions does not help in finding political compromise, but moves it away from achieving it. The transportation and banking systems have still been blocked. Our position in the negotiations is aimed at resolving these problems. And we have showed the openness to the cooperation. To advance the joint work, we expect our Moldovan partners to demonstrate the political will. Unblocking the economy is able to reduce significantly conflict potential on the whole”.
