Deputy Chairperson of the Government of the PMR, Foreign Minister Nina Shtanski told about it in the exclusive interview to “Novosti Pridnestrovya”
We remind that Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Radojko Bogojevic visited Pridnestrovie last week. The distinguished guest held meetings with the President of the PMR, as well as with the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Upon his arrival in Kishinev, the diplomat held a briefing for a number of Moldovan media, following which local TV channels reported that Radojko Bogojevic allegedly expressed concern about the recent introduction of the compulsory automobile insurance in Pridnestrovie.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Nina Shtanski expressed doubt on her page in Facebook that the publicized comment of Radojko Bogojevic really concerned the issue of insurance, as during the visit to Tiraspol the Special Representative “had not expressed concerns or even interest in that matter.”
The Head of the Foreign Ministry made comments on the situation specially for the “Novosti Pridnestrovya”.
“We paid attention to inaccurate reports emerged in a number of Moldovan media. Unfortunately, such distortions of information relating to Pridnestrovie became a common practice for the channel “Publika TV”. However, the information tends to be widely spread, so the resonance is quite capable to cause damage to one or another international processes, including negotiations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova,” – noted Nina Shtanski.
In this regard, the MFA of the PMR addressed Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Radojko Bogojevic with a request to clarify whether he had given the negative assessment about the automobile insurance introduced in Pridnestrovie.
“The request was all the more necessary because neither during the meeting with the President of the PMR, nor in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the Special Representative had not expressed concern, had not inquired the details related to the matter,” – said Nina Shtanski.
In answer to the request we received the explanation from Radojko Bogojevic, which included the full text of his comments voiced at the briefing. “As it turned out, the Publika TV inserted the fragment skillfully cut out from the Ambassador’s speech into the context performed by editor’s order. In reality, the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office pointed to the common position of the OSCE on the interaction of Pridnestrovie and Moldova, said the following: “We strongly oppose to any unilateral measures taken by any of the parties. It does not benefit the process as a whole,” – stressed the Head of the Foreign Minister.
“Radojko Bogojevic called me to address him safely at any time in the future to clarify the accuracy of certain public statements attributed to him,” - concluded the Minister.
