Today Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR hosted the meeting of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev with Head of Official Representative Office of the Pridnestrovien Moldavian Republic in the Republic of Abkhazia Garri Kupalba and Authorized Representative of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Pridnestrovien Moldavian Republic Alexander Vataman.
During the meeting interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation of Pridnestrovie and Abkhazia. Garri Kupalba informed leadership of the PMR's MFA on joint political processes, taking place in the Republic of Abkhazia. He also told about the outcomes of the activity of Official Representative Office of Pridnestrovie in Abkhazia. He reported that last year fifteen official delegations, including one of the President of the PMR, visited Representative Office. Garri Kupalba also informed about the outcomes of the workshop, prepared by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia for co-chairpersons of Geneva discussions. The workshop, held in Pitsunda on February 15, was dedicated to historical and political analysis of Georgia-Abkhazia conflict.
From his side Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR noted, that Tiraspol lays special emphasis on interaction with Abkhazia. During the meeting he proposed to coordinate agenda of holding of the meetings with representatives of Pridnestrovien Ministries and institutions. Eighteen Agreements on interaction within different spheres were signed over a period of interdepartmental cooperation between Abkhazia and Pridnestrovie. In particular, activization of cooperation in the framework of Young Diplomat Association and the resumption of activity of Conference of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Pridnestrovie, Abkhazia, Nagorny Karabakh and South Ossetia were discussed during the meeting. Interlocutors defined a number of steps and practical aspects for development of constructive partnership of fraternal republics.
At the end of the meeting Vitaly Ignatiev invited guests to International round table, dedicated to the 10th Anniversary of Permanent Consultations on Political Issues in the Framework of the Pridnestrovien Settlement Negotiation Process format, which will take place in Tiraspol on February 24. Foreign diplomats and experts will participate in round table.
