Today Deputy Chairperson of the Government of the PMR on Issues of International Cooperation, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nina Shtanski held a meeting with Her Majesty's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Moldova H.E. Keith Shannon. Participating to the meeting was also Yulia Kirnitski, Political Adviser at the British Embassy to the Republic of Moldova.




This was a farewell visit of Keith Shannon as an Ambassador to the Foreign Service of Pridnestrovie. In the course of the meeting, parties discussed results of four year productive and effective cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR and the British Embassy to the RM headed by Keith Shannon. Emphasizing achievements, Nina Shtanski highly appreciated support rendered by the British Embassy in the process of Pridnestrovian-Moldavian settlement. “It is necessary to mention elaboration of guarantee mechanisms for the settlement process by the British side, involvement of international experts, and distinguished researchers from Britain,” said Nina Shtanski. Also, she mentioned projects implemented by the British Embassy for children and youth, in particular, arrangement of a children's football match.



Keith Shannon, in his turn, highly appreciated willingness of the leadership of the Republic to cooperate with international partners. “It was very important for me to get first-hand information, to communicate with people and to understand their point of view on many things. In my opinion, it is very important to have an open dialogue avoiding misunderstandings. I believe that we have managed to achieve it, and I'm very grateful to you for it,” Keith Shannon said, referring to the Head of the Foreign Ministry.



Answering the questions of the journalists, Nina Shtanski expressed the hope that the current joint socio-economic and humanitarian projects between Pridnestrovie and the British Embassy in the RM will continue in the future. Keith Shannon also assured that the United Kingdom in the face of his successor as the head of the diplomatic mission will maintain its contribution to stabilization of the situation on the Dniester and to improvement of economic and social life of Pridnestrovie.
