Vladimir Yastrebchak Meets with Heads of the British Diplomatic Representation Offices in Ukraine and Moldova

On September 15, 2010, Tiraspol saw the meeting of the PMR's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vladimir Yastrebchak, with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the Republic of Moldova, Keith Shannon, and Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Ukraine, Leigh Turner.

The meeting was focused on considering scheduled events organized with the support of the British Diplomats.  This implies, in particular, a conference in Odessa in October this year aimed at discussing issues of trade and economic cooperation and some other events, including those of humanitarian character.

The interlocutors shared views on the current situation in the Moldova-Pridnestrovie settlement, as well as on the agenda of the forthcoming meetings, among them is the visit to Transdniestria of political representatives of guarantor countries, mediators and observers of the Permanent Consultations on Political Issues in the Framework of the Transdniestrian Settlement Negotiation Process on 22 September.

One more issue raised at the meeting was connected with examining possible ways of assistance on the part of Great Britain in intensifying dialogue at the regional level, inter alia, projects on trans-border cooperation between Transdniestria, Ukraine and Moldova.
