Today, a working meeting of Pridnestrovie and Moldova’s experts on termination of criminal cases took place at the OSCE Mission office in Bendery at the Pridnestrovian side’s initiative.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of the mediators from the Russian Federation, Ukraine and the OSCE, as well as observers from the European Union and the United States.
It should be reminded that the previous meeting was held in the same format in Bendery on 24 April 2015 and, since August last year Pridnestrovie has repeatedly put forward initiatives to hold the meeting, but it was postponed by the Moldovan side every time.
Within the framework of the working meeting the sides tentatively expressed their readiness to make within a month exchange of actual lists of persons involved in criminal cases initiated against officials and other citizens by the authorities of Pridnestrovie and Moldova. Pridnestrovian representatives reaffirmed their principled position that politically motivated criminal cases can be terminated by both parties on the basis of principle of reciprocity according to the technology “all for all”.
The two sides also agreed to exchange practical proposals to restore the cooperation interrupted earlier by the Moldovan side between law enforcement authorities of Pridnestrovie and Moldova.
