On December 9, 2015 during the working visit to Moscow Acting Foreign Minister of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev met with the leadership of the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies. The meeting was attended by RISS Director Leonid Reshetnikov, Deputy Director of the Institute Tamara Guzenkova, Director of RISS Dniester-Prut Center Sergey Mokshantsev, and Deputy Director of RISS Dniester-Prut Center Vasily Kashirin.
During the discussion the sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation in the scientific, expert, information and educational spheres. Particular attention was paid to the optimal format of cooperation, which would keep the traditionally highly dynamic and substantive content of the contacts of Pridnestrovie and the RISS in the environment of increasingly discriminatory measures of Moldova to limit Pridnestrovie’s international contacts in the scientific, expert and academic field.
The sides also discussed a number of aspects of the current situation around Pridnestrovie in the context of existing challenges and threats, including in the field of protection of rights and interests of Russian citizens living in Pridnestrovie and compatriots. The RISS leadership expressed support for Pridnestrovie’s efforts undertaken on a wide range of areas in order to stabilize the situation.
During the meeting, participants also discussed the implementation of joint projects, including the interaction on Skolkovo Technopark and the activities planned to be held in the near future.
