Delegation of the Pridnestrovien Moldavian Republic, which included Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexander Malyarchuk and Managing Director of the Regional Public Organization “Pridnestrovien Society of Friendship with Cuba” Alexander Kolomenchuk, on the invitation of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Ukraine Félix León Carballo paid a friendly visit to the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Ukraine.
The Pridnestrovien Society of Friendship with Cuba unites former military officers who had fulfilled their international duty in the Republic of Cuba, as well as civil specialists. Its major goals include inter alia assistance in developing friendship and mutual understanding between the public of Pridnestrovie and Cuba, support of scientific, cultural and educational exchange between the two states, carrying out of events promoting patriotic upbringing of youth, building in new generation the feeling of internationalism, friendship and peace between nations.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR fosters the development of contacts between the Pridnestrovien Society of Friendship with Cuba and other similar organizations in the CIS countries. In the course of the meeting with Ambassador of Cuba, issues were discussed relating to the possible cooperation between Cuba and Pridnestrovie, including in trade-economic, humanitarian, cultural, scientific-educational, social and recreational, tourist and other fields.
The Embassy of Cuba also hosted the meetings with representatives of Ukrainian Association of Warriors-Internationalists of the “Cubans” and Ukraine-Cuba Friendship Association at which the course of implementation of the already concluded agreements as well as technical and organizational questions of holding of joint events were discussed. Special emphasis was laid on the possibility of rendering assistance to Ukrainian colleagues in socio-humanitarian sphere what implies inter alia rehabilitative help to Chernobyl cleanup veterans and members of their family. Also, during the meeting attention was paid to development of contacts in the line of veterans\' organizations, including the possibility to carry out their sanatory and health-improving treatment. Besides, interaction in the line of protection of children and tuning of the ties between youth patriotic internationalist organizations was discussed.
