Today, in the framework of the review meeting dedicated to the results of 2013 of the Russian public and state organization “The Voluntary Society for Cooperation with the Army, Air Force and Navy of Russia”, an Agreement on cooperation and collaboration between the public and state organization “The Voluntary Society for Cooperation with the Army, Air Force and Navy of Russia” and the ANO “The Voluntary Society for Cooperation with the Army, Air Force and Navy of PMR”. The ceremony was attended by Pavel Sharaiy, Advisor to the Director of Dniester-Prut Centre of the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies, Sergey Mayev, Chairperson of the Russia “DOSAAF”, Sergey Mokshantsev, Director of the ANO “Dniester-Prut Centre of the RISS”, Vladimir Kuznetsov, Chairman of the board of the RPO “Pridnestrovian Community”, and Nikolay Serdtsev, Honorary Citizen of Rybnitsa, Colonel-General. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was represented by Igor Shornikov, Deputy Foreign Minister.
The documents were signed by Sergey Mayev and Sergey Mokshantsev, the PMR'S DOSAAF representative. Sergey Mokshantsev was authorized to sign this Agreement by the PMR's DOSAAF Director Viktor Pental. We note that ANO “DOSAAF of the PMR” was founded on February 27 a.c. The founder of the organization is ANO “Dniester-Prut Centre of the RISS”.
The Agreement on cooperation affirms the collaboration of the sides on such issues as military-patriotic education of young people, consolidation of joint efforts in the formation of personality – patriot, defender of the Fatherland, joint participation in the events dedicated to preparation of young people for military service in Russia and Pridnestrovie, engaging the youth in the study of the War History of Russia. In addition, the participation of the sides of the Agreement in the events on commemoration of Defenders of the Homeland, organization of the military-applied kinds of sports training, as well as provision logistical support of the ANO “DOSAAF of the PMR” by the Russia's DOSAAF is provided.
Sergey Mayev knows Pridnestrovie firsthand. In 1992 along with other Russian officers he promoted ending of the armed phase of the conflict. “Heroic people live in Pridnestrovie. They defended their freedom and were able to maintain it over the years. Russia should support the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic,”- said Sergey Mayev addressing the participants of the meeting. He also stressed that the DOSAAF of Russia plays an important role in improving the level of preparing young people for service in the army which is very positively reflected in strengthening of the defence capability of the country.
Igor Shornikov, in turn, called today's signed Agreement not only an important contribution to improving the defence capability of Pridnestrovie, but also an element of security of the Russian Federation. The diplomat recalled that by the results of the 2006 referendum more than 97 per cent of Pridnestrovian people voted for independent development followed by free accession to the Russian Federation. “Pridnestrovian people feel themselves part of the Russian world. Pridnestrovian people are ready to defend not only their small Homeland, but their big Fatherland,” - noted Igor Shornikov.
