The Foreign Ministry hosted the meeting of the PMR’s Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev with Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Claus Neukirch. Participating in the meeting was also Deputy Foreign Minister of the PMR Alexander Stetsiuk.
In the course of the meeting, the parties exchanged their views regarding the current situation in the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova. Vitaly Ignatiev stated with regret the protraction in the process of the Bratislava Protocol approval. At the same time, according to the Minister, there is a whole range of outstanding issues in the framework of Moldova-Pridnestrovie relations settlement, with several issues growing increasingly pressing. In particular, the Head of the PMR’s MFA emphasized problems relating to the closure of accounts of Pridnestrovian enterprises in Moldovan banks and participation of Pridnestrovian drivers in the international road traffic.
At the request of Claus Neukirch, Vitaly Ignatiev outlined priorities of Pridnestrovie in the negotiation process for the coming period, including driving licenses, import of goods into Pridnestrovie after February 1, 2020 given the joint Moldova-Ukraine customs and border control on the border of Pridnestrovie with Ukraine; telecommunications, banks, termination of politically motivated criminal cases, etc. In this context, Vitaly Ignatiev underscored the need for an early meeting of political representatives of the sides.
