The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR sent a congratulatory address to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of adoption of Act on State Independence of the Republic of South Ossetia. The congratulation reads:
“On May 29, 1992, a historically important document was adopted which became a starting point of formation and development of statehood of the Republic of South Ossetia, as well as assertion of rights for its own freedom and independence, preservation of traditions and culture. By an Act on State Independence, the South Ossetian people unambiguously and weighty declared sovereignty of its country.
Today South Ossetia is a recognized country. Socio-economic potential of the republic is being restored, and foreign policy positions at the international stage are being strengthened. Certainly, major credit in this belongs to Ossetian diplomats professionally working in many international areas for the good of their native land.
Pridnestrovie highly estimates close cultural and spiritual ties existing between the two republics. United by a common historic fate, our peoples maintain and develop their cultural and national identity and accomplish democratic institutions.”
Pridnestrovian MFA expresses confidence that constructive partnership between the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Republic of South Ossetia on the whole range of bilateral interaction will further serve the cause of strengthening ties between our brotherly republics.
