On the Meeting with OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities

Today, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vladimir Yastrebchak received OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Knut Vollebaek. Participating in the meeting held in the foreign policy department of Pridnestrovie were also the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Philip Remler, and other OSCE staff. The Pridnestrovien side along with the PMR's MFA's Head was represented by Deputies Minister, Sergey Simonenko and Alexander Malyarchuk.

Knut Vollebaek who before the meeting in the Ministry had visited the Republican Ukrainian Theoretical Lyceum in Tiraspol shared impressions about his visit with Vladimir Yastrebchak. The diplomats also discussed a number of questions related to the development of regional educational systems. In particular, issue was raised regarding abroad acknowledgment of educational documents issued by Pridnestrovie.

In the course of the meeting, Vladimir Yastrebchak informed OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities about the outcomes of a regular round of informal consultations of the participants of the Permanent Consultations on Political Issues in the Framework of the Pridnestrovien Settlement Negotiation Process, held on April 4-5, in Vienna.
