Deputy Chairperson of the Government of the PMR for International Cooperation, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nina Shtanski sent congratulations to Senior Military Commander of the Russian Contingent of the Peacekeeping Forces Valery Blizhensky on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of the deployment of the peacekeeping forces of the Russian Federation in Pridnestrovie.

In the welcoming remarks the Foreign Minister stressed that Pridnestrovie is profoundly grateful to Russian peacekeepers for the heroism and courage in the settlement of the armed conflict in 1992.

“The country appreciates exceptionally the fortitude and responsibility which servicemen of peacekeeping forces have always had. The peacekeeping mission of the Russian Federation for many years remains the only guarantee of stability, peace and security in Pridnestrovie. The image of a Russian peacekeeper has become a reflection of the best characteristics of a fair and reliable defender, friend and elder comrade for several generations of Pridnestrovians”, said the diplomat.

Nina Shtanski expressed confidence that “in spite of rising external pressure and unfriendly steps of some of the international partners the Russian peacekeeping mission will continue to be the unshakable foundation of freedom and prosperity of Pridnestrovie”.
