The Foreign Ministry held a meeting of Deputy Chairperson of the Government of the PMR for International Cooperation, Minister for Foreign Affairs Nina Shtanski with Director of the Conflict Prevention Centre, Deputy Head of the OSCE Secretariat Adam Kobieracki. The meeting was also attended by Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Michael Scanlan, as well as other representatives of the OSCE.

The sides continued the work on the harmonization of the document regulating the interaction of the OSCE Mission and Pridnestrovie. The proposal for revision of the Arrangement was made by Pridnestrovie as early as in 2011. The principled position on the need for meaningful consultation on updating the Arrangement was announced by the PMR’s President at a meeting with the leadership of the OSCE Mission to Moldova in March 2013 and he entrusted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR to continue and intensify the work on the development of a new Agreement on the activities of the OSCE Mission in Pridnestrovie. In 2014, the sides began to negotiate.

Nina Shtanski noted that a number of rich and quite productive discussions on the development of an updated document were held between representatives of Pridnestrovie and the OSCE last year. The diplomat told about serious progress in the work on the revision of the updated arrangement and convergence, despite some inconsistencies and issues that require further discussion.

Adam Kobieracki, in his turn, agreed with the positive assessment of the current stage of the harmonization of the draft of the Arrangement and expressed hope for a speedy successful completion of the work.

During the discussion the sides exchanged views on a number of terminological aspects of the document draft; they also managed to significantly move forward. The two sides agreed to continue the work in the near future.
