The first meeting of the Council of Young Diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR in the new year was held on January 12, 2013 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR. Besides representatives of the Council of Young Diplomats the event was attended by the senior officers of the Foreign Agency and invited guests - leaders of public associations of the Republic, the young employees of the government authorities. Sergey Davydov, Deputy Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Mission to the Republic of Moldova, visited the event as a special guest.
The meeting was focused on the presentation of the Eurasian Youth International Conference, a new youth interactive project designed to enhance the youth research interest relating to Eurasian issues.
The Eurasian Youth International Conference shall be a unique media event aimed at promoting the idea of Eurasian integration among CIS countries through engaging the expertise of the youth from the post-Soviet space. The project serves to join the efforts of civil society to address the current socio-economic and humanitarian issues basing on the ideas of Eurasian integration.
The Conference shall contain several stages. At the first stage the young participants shall write an article on Eurasian integration and send it to smdip@mfa-pmr.org, the e-mail address of the Council of Young Diplomats. The article shall answer the questions:
- What are your perspectives concerning the future of the Eurasian Union?
- What opportunities shall discover the participating states if joining the Eurasian Union?
- What effective forms of interaction could be developed between states after taking the path of the Eurasian integration?
All articles after editing will be posted in a special section on the website of the Council of Young Diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR.
At the second stage the committee of the Public Expert Board under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR shall pick over 15 articles. Their authors will take part in discussion with experts. Thereafter 5 finalists will be selected. They will be invited to shooting Public Diplomacy program at the First Pridnestrovian TV channel and their articles will be published in the Diplomatic Journal.
The website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR will give coverage to the Eurasian Youth International Conference.
