Today the meeting of Andrey Deshchitsa, the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office on Protracted Conflicts, with the Expert (Working) Groups on Issues of Transport and Road Facilities Development from Pridnestrovie and Moldova was held at the OSCE Office in Tiraspol city.
Andrey Deshchitsa thanked experts for the work done. He appealed to them for settlement of the issue relating to the opening of the Gura Bicului-Bychok Bridge. “Opening of the bridge will bring practical advantages to people living in that area, to transportation and, consequently, to Pridnestrovie, Moldova and neighbouring countries – Ukraine and Russia. That is why all of us are interested in operation of the bridge and we will strive for finding settlement of this issue as soon as possible,” the Ukrainian diplomat noted.
At the meeting Andrey Deshchitsa stressed that development of the Pridnestrovian settlement is a priority for Ukraine as the country holding chairmanship of the OSCE in 2013. Referring to the agenda of the forthcoming meeting in Lvov under the “5+2” format the diplomat said that the Ukrainian Chairmanship of the OSCE offers to look for compromise solutions, the common ground, which would be supported by both sides. “We need to focus on specific projects to get the result and to set aside current differences,” Andrey Deshchitsa said.
