Nina Shtanski congratulated Head of State Administration of Tiraspol and Dnestrovsk with 68th Anniversary of City’s Liberation from Fascist Occupants

04/12/12
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Nina Shtanski sent congratulations to Head of State Administration of Tiraspol and Dnestrovsk Andrei Bezbabchenko with 68th anniversary of Tiraspol's liberation from German invaders and Romanian occupants.
In the welcoming address is said: This day is engraved on the pages of history of the capital of our State with golden letters. On April 12, 1944 the troops of the 37th Army of the Third Ukrainian Front liberated Tiraspol from the brown plague.
Romanian occupation lasted for 970 long and terrible days and nights. Fascists murdered more than 4000 residents of Tiraspol. Thousands of people died from hunger and diseases. Romanian occupants did everything in order to weaken the human and industrial potential of Tiraspol. Healthcare system and sanitary security of the city were completely destroyed, citizens suffered genocide and were compelled to forced labor.
But terrible conditions of German-Romanian fascist occupation regime did not break strong spirit and courage of Tiraspolians. Mass resistance of the people did not allow occupants to use all the economic resources of the city. Memory about those who sacrificed their lives to bring near the liberation of homeland will live eternally in hearts of grateful descendants.
Times are changing. We are moving away from the memorable date of our Great Victory and we often meet with new estimations of these events. There are politicians in some countries who whish to place the feat of arms of the Soviet soldier on the same footing with the deeds of those who were in one row with the fascists brutally murdering millions of people.
Nina Shtanski expressed her confidence that Andrei Bezbabchenko will work hard to preserve sacred memory about the heroic deed of the Soviet soldier in Great Patriotic War, to improve living conditions of the veterans of war and to conduct patriotic education of youth.
