Today, a meeting of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev with a delegation of members of the House of Representatives of the US Congress was held in the PMR’s MFA. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the US Embassy in Moldova.
During the meeting, Vitaly Ignatiev highlighted a number of issues of interest for the guests on the current situation in Pridnestrovie. In particular, the issues related to strengthening the restrictive measures against the Pridnestrovian economy on the part of Moldova and Ukraine were raised. In that context, the diplomat reiterated the position of the Pridnestrovian side concerning inadmissibility of the use of sanctions and blockades in the framework of the dialogue with external partners, including in the context of the negotiation process in the "5 + 2" format.
At the end of the meeting the American side expressed its appreciation for the opportunity to get unbiased information at "first hand".
