Relaunch of Passenger Train via Transdniestria

Following the agreements between the Moldovan, Transdniestrian and Ukrainian railway men reached with the assistance of the EU experts, the resumption of the passenger line Chisinau-Odessa took place on October 1, 2010.   Today, at 8.30 a.m. the train arrived at the Transdniestrian railway station Bendery-2. The head of Bendery Public Administration, Vyacheslav Kogut, greeted the first passengers of the train. Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine in the Republic of Moldova Sergey Pirozhkov was among them.    Restart of this passenger line has become the result of a continuous work carried out by the sides with active involvement of the mediators and observers as part of efforts aimed at solving problems faced by the population of the Republic of Moldova and Transdniestria.
