Today, Foreign Ministry of Abkhazia hosted the meeting of Deputy Chairperson of the Government of the PMR for International Cooperation, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nina Shtanski and Foreign Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia Vyacheslav Chirikba.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of events dedicated to celebration of the 20th anniversary of Victory in Patriotic War of 1992-1993.
Opening up the meeting, Vyacheslav Chirikba marked that Abkhazia is optimistic about bilateral relations with the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and also expressed opinion that such meetings will help “charge our friendship with practical content and strengthen our relations in various fields”.
In her turn, Nina Shtanski highly assessed today's Joint Statement of the heads of two republics underlining that it will give “additional impetus to a greater development of interstate relations.”
As she marked, today President of the PMR gave instruction to set up a working group on issues of cooperation in touristic sphere, in particular, providing public sector employees of Pridnestrovie with health resort treatment. “There are plans on investments in tourism infrastructure, establishing joint agricultural and industrial enterprises,” she reported.
In the course of the meeting issues of optimizing trade-economic, strategic and political cooperation of Abkhazia and Pridnestrovie were also raised.
