Today, on the initiative of the British side the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR hosted a working meeting of Deputy Chairperson of the Government of the PMR for International Cooperation, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nina Shtanski with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Great Britain to the Republic of Moldova Philip David Batson.
During the meeting the parties exchanged views on a number of topical issues of bilateral relations. The discussion also was focused on the current economic situation in Pridnestrovie. In particular, Nina Shtanski stressed that economic pressure on Pridnestrovie is constantly increasing. According to her, in spite of positive assessments of the current state of the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and Moldova by some experts and foreign partners, the real situation between the parties is rapidly deteriorating.
In this context, the diplomat noted that in the course of the meeting between the political representatives of Pridnestrovie and Moldova on April 8 the Moldovan side openly stated that approaches to the Pridnestrovian enterprises are changing, in particular, to the Tiraspol Winery & Distillery «KVINT», which was denied a license renewal. According to the Foreign Minister, such unilateral actions can lead to the unprecedented complication of relations between the parties.
